KENT, Wash. - On Friday, the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed a first-degree murder charge against Corniche L. Washington who is accused of fatally shooting 39-year-old Antonio Wells Sr at a bus stop in Kent last year.

According to court documents, Washington and Wells got into an argument at a bus stop on Pacific Hwy S just south of Kent Des Moines Road on Nov. 26, 2021. Wells' two 14-year-old children had been shot at the bus stop two days prior.

Witnesses say after the argument, during which Wells called Washington the "shooter," Wells walked back to his car when Washington allegedly shot him several times outside of the driver's door. Washington then got into the vehicle Wells' was driving and drove off.

Medics attempted to save Wells but he died at the scene.

Prosecutors also charged Washington with Taking a Motor Vehicle Without Permission in the Second Degree, which is a felony.
